BR Hills Situated between the Cauvery and the Kapilla rivers in the Southern Karnataka (South India) it can be reached from Bangalore (NH209). Its an important link of the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats allowing animals to move between the two. It also serves as an important biota of the entire Deccan Pleatu.


The Biligirirangan Hills commonly known as BR Hills, is a Hill Range situated in south eastern side of Karnataka (South India). Established on June27, 1974, its goverened by Karnataka Forest Department. Its also known as Biligiriranga Temple Wildlife Sanctuary.Its a tour filled with adventure, with things like fishing, coracle river rides and rafting.

Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple This ages old temple is the adobe of the Lord Rangaswamy perched stop a hill at 1000ft.If you are here in the month of April then you can enjoy the Ratha (Chariot) festival carried out every year in the honour of Lord Rangaswamy.

Dodda Sampige Mara (Big Champak Tree) As it is called in the local language by the Solgia Tribals who reside here, this 2000YEARS OLD, BIG CHAMPAK TREE, is the adobe of Lord Rangaswamy. It is said that other deities also reside here, which are represented by 101stone lingas.
